CIUDAD MCY.- El presidente de México, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, criticó este jueves en un discurso junto a su homólogo guatemalteco, Alejandro Giammattei, que Estados Unidos haya decidido apoyar más a Ucrania en su conflicto con Rusia en lugar de contribuir al desarrollo de los países que integran la región de Centroamérica.

«Me parece, lo digo sinceramente, inexplicable que en Washington, en el Capitolio, se haya retrasado tanto la aprobación de los 4 mil millones de dólares que ofrecieron invertir para la generación de bienestar en los países centroamericanos», señaló el mandatario mexicano.

«No se debe de comparar a tabla rasa, pero ya se aprobaron más de 30 mil millones de dólares para apoyar la guerra a Ucrania. Llevamos cuatro años, desde que estaba el presidente Donald Trump, planteando que se nos apoye con 4 mil millones de dólares, y hasta el día de hoy nada, absolutamente nada», indicó López Obrador.

RESPETO E INTEGRACIÓN SIN EXCLUSIONES

López Obrador puso énfasis en la necesidad de la “colaboración” de EEUU para “respetar la soberanía” de los pueblos de América Latina y el Caribe e impulsar la unidad entre ellos.

En este sentido, aseveró que América debe avanzar hacia una “integración económica” y comercial “sin exclusiones” al margen de “diferencias ideológicas”, ya que, a su criterio, el “respeto al derecho ajeno” es la clave para lograr la paz regional.

De este modo, AMLO reprochó un reciente anuncio de Washington de que ve “poco probable” que países como Cuba, Venezuela o Nicaragua pudieran ser convocados para la próxima IX Cumbre de las Américas, que tendrá lugar el próximo mes de junio en California, Estados Unidos.

«Ya basta de hegemonías, ya basta de la política que se ha impuesto por más de dos siglos en nuestra América. Necesitamos la unidad, necesitamos el respeto a las soberanías de todos los países. Que se respete la soberanía de Guatemala, que se respete la soberanía de México», manifestó el representante mexicano.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador comenzó este jueves una gira maratónica durante la cual en solo dos días visitará Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras y Belice, y que culminará el próximo domingo en Cuba.
