CIUDAD MCY.- Este domingo el presidente de la Plataforma Nacional en Defensa del Transporte de España, Manuel Hernández, anunció que continuarán con el paro que protagonizan desde hace casi dos semanas hasta que la administración dé respuesta a las demandas del sector.

El líder gremial manifestó que la situación del sector es muy grave debido al aumento de los combustibles y a que los pagos de contratación de sus servicios son bajos, no cubren los altos costos de operación, por lo que constantemente enfrentan las pérdidas.

Además, Hernández explicó que desde octubre de 2021 alertaron que “si no se articulaban medidas que impidieran la contratación a pérdidas (…), finalmente el sector iba a colapsar”.

Al mismo tiempo, subrayó que la crisis posterior tiene que ver con dejadez institucional y que no se les escuchó pese a que siguen negociando, “han pasado cinco meses y la administración no ha tenido en cuenta esta gravedad. Nos cuesta menos dinero estar parados que trabajar, la situación es caótica”, enfatizó.

Hernández consideró que la administración tiene las herramientas suficientes para articular cualquier decreto y cualquier ley que den respuesta a las demandas de los transportistas y de esta manera poder poner marcha el trabajo.

Aseveró que hay que organizar la contratación de modo que se eliminen malas prácticas que subsisten, las cuales permiten que un intermediario se lleve el dinero que en realidad debe cobrar el transportista.

El líder del gremio recalcó que la administración tiene que trabajar en la dirección acertada y desbloquear la negociación, asimismo dijo que los transportistas no están pidiendo limosnas ni subvenciones, pues deben de llevar el sustento para comer todos los días.

También, valoró la reunión del pasado viernes entre la ministra de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana, Raquel Sánchez, y el Comité Nacional de Transporte por Carretera (al cual no pertenece la Plataforma Nacional en Defensa del Transporte).

En esa ocasión, el Gobierno anunció ayudas al sector por más de mil 50 millones de euros (mil 153 millones de dólares), que incluyen una rebaja hasta el próximo 30 de junio de 20 céntimos por litro en el combustible.
