CIUDAD MCY.- Su nombre: Samanes de Aragua, su apellido: Oportunidad.

En 2021, una nueva página del deporte nacional empezó a escribirse con la inauguración de la primera temporada de la Liga Mayor de Béisbol Profesional (LMBP), y con ella también nació la organización Samanes de Aragua, institución dispuesta a ser una nueva vitrina para los profesionales de la pelota.

Rápidamente, esta oportunidad se convirtió en una gran fuente de trabajo para los jugadores sin contrato en el exterior, y, por supuesto, para el resto de los aragüeños que hacen vida en diferentes áreas laborales, como por ejemplo seguridad, taquilla, limpieza, mantenimiento, entre otras.

Es esta, además, una razón de felicidad, disfrute y alegría para los venezolanos, porque si hay algo que une y transforma los corazones de esta Patria es la pelota criolla que tantas emociones ha regalado a los venezolanos desde la primera vez que sonó la voz de play ball.

LA FORTALEZA DE UN SAMÁN

¿Por qué Samanes de Aragua? Seguramente es la pregunta más común entre los aficionados del béisbol. Y es que este impresionante árbol es el más representativo y emblemático de la región, así lo aseguró el exgrandeliga y parte de la gerencia del equipo, Carlos Guillén.

“Se trató de buscar una figura emblemática del estado para que pudiera llegar rápidamente al aragüeño, hicimos una votación y nos gustó ese nombre; de hecho, el logo del estado también lleva un Samán, entonces nos preguntamos ¿por qué no tener un equipo que también lleve el nombre?”, explicó Guillén.

Aseguró que los principios del equipo van de la mano con los mismos objetivos inculcados desde el inicio a los beisbolistas, como respeto a la camisa y a los fanáticos, unión y sobre todo la ejecución de las pequeñas y grandes cosas del béisbol, cualidades indispensables según sus propias palabras, para inculcar a los pequeños que siguen este deporte.

Guillén manifestó que una de las acciones más importantes para crear sentido de pertenencia en la aragüeñidad son los diferentes trabajos sociales que vienen organizando desde la primera temporada de la LMBP, como visitas a las escuelas y clínicas deportivas con los jugadores, acciones que aseguró continuarán realizando.

EQUIPO DE CALIDAD

Durante el estreno de la liga, Samanes de Aragua mostró una lista de jugadores profesionales de renombre que, en su momento, no tenían contrato fuera de Venezuela, como Henderson Álvarez, Guillermo Moscoso, Osmer Morales y Julio Vivas, quienes demostraron su talento en búsqueda de nuevas oportunidades en el béisbol.

Liderados por un cuerpo técnico de la talla de Luis Ugueto como mánager, Gustavo Molina, Yosnel García, Oswaldo Navarro y Orber Moreno, Samanes logró meterse en la postemportada en su primera zafra, aunque no les alcanzó para avanzar hasta la final.

Sin embargo, dejaron un buen sabor de boca para los aficionados del béisbol, pues varios de sus jugadores destacaron dentro del campo. Tal es el caso del lanzador Eudis Idrogo, quien se adjudicó el premio Pitcher del Año al finalizar con efectividad de 0.88 en 30 innings de labor, un juego ganado y otro perdido, 4 carreras permitidas y 19 ponches propinados.

Idrogo recibió 20 votos de los cuales 16 fueron para el primer lugar, situación que el pelotero jamás imaginó, a pesar de prepararse arduamente antes y durante la temporada.

«Nunca me lo imaginé, yo solo quería dar lo mejor de mí en cada apertura y ayudar al equipo con las cosas que yo podía controlar. Sin importar el resultado yo salía a dar lo mejor de mí, por eso ese galardón es una bendición de Dios», manifestó el pelotero de 27 años de edad.

Aseguró que los factores que incidieron en su éxito fueron mantenerse en conversaciones continuas con su coach de pitcheo para entender si estaba fallando en algo, la confianza en su juego y, sobre todo, creer en sí mismo.

En cuanto a Samanes de Aragua, Eudis manifestó sentirse contento con el grupo de jugadores con el que compartió, los cuales se convirtieron en una familia por lo que apuntó sentirse agradecido con cada uno de ellos.

De igual forma, el pelotero, perteneciente a Tiburones de La Guaira en la liga de invierno de Venezuela, comentó que la LMBP resultó ser bastante productiva y la calificó como una oportunidad para los peloteros.

«Estoy seguro de que esta liga abrirá puertas para nosotros fuera del país, así como dentro de Venezuela, tanto para peloteros jóvenes como con experiencia. La Liga Mayor está dando de qué hablar y estoy seguro de que cada vez será mejor», señaló.

NUEVA TEMPORADA EN PUERTA

Mayo es el mes en el que volverá a sonar la voz de play ball en la Liga Mayor de Béisbol Profesional para su temporada 2022, por lo que actualmente el equipo se mantiene en preparación.

Por lo pronto, dos equipos más fueron añadidos a la liga, se trata de Caciques de Distrito y Relámpagos del Zulia, quienes también buscarán la gloria en esta nueva historia del béisbol profesional de Venezuela.
